Police are investigating a fatal crash after a toddler was hit by a vehicle in Otara this evening.
The 18-month-old was taken to a medical centre by family at around 5pm however he passed away shortly after.
The Counties Manukau Serious Crash Unit is investigating and is still trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The driver of the vehicle is assisting Police with their inquiries.
The family of the boy is being supported by Police and Victim Support. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
A name will be released tomorrow once next-of-kin have been notified.
