A number of police staff are currently in attendance at an incident in Seacliff where a male has been transported to hospital in a critical state.
Police can confirm there appears to have been a firearm involved in the incident and, as such, police responded accordingly.
There are a number of cordons in place while police continue to deal with the incident and an investigation has been launched.
Police would like to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident and they should not have any concerns for their safety. Police staff will remain in the area for some time as the investigation continues.
