The Police dog stabbed in Northland on Saturday is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.

This morning, 20-month-old Caesar underwent a CT scan to confirm there was no permanent damage around his eye.

The scan results show Caesar suffered two skull fractures, with some swelling and bruising.

Thankfully, Caesar is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.

At this stage it is not known when Caesar will return to the job.

Caesar’s handler, Constable Josh Van Der Kwaak, has been by his side.

Constable Van Der Kwaak is also recovering from minor injuries sustained during the incident.

He would like to acknowledge the public’s support over the weekend.
