Invercargill Police investigating assault

Police are investigating an assault which occurred early morning on Sunday December 11th 2016 in central Invercargill.

At approximately 2:15am a woman was assaulted by a male on the corner of Yarrow and Dee Streets.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the assault, which has continued a short distance along Yarrow Street.

The victim was a blonde woman in her 20’s. She was wearing a dark coloured floral dress and high heels.

The male is believed to be in his mid 20’s to 30’s, approximately 6ft tall, with short dark hair and of solid build.

Police are asking that any witnesses to this incident contact Sergeant Scott MacKenzie at the Invercargill Police Station on 03 211 0400.
