Counties Manukau Police are continuing to investigate the death of Clayton Ratima, a 24 year old Tribesmen Motorcycle gang associate and prospect.

On the 21 February 2016, Mr Ratima was admitted to Middlemore hospital with injuries consistent with having been severely assaulted. He passed away three days later.

Detective Senior Sergeant Albie Alexander says detectives investigating Mr Ratima’s death have information that he was assaulted at the Tribesmen Motorcycle Gang headquarters in Berrit Place, Otara during the early hours of Sunday 21 February 2016.

The Tribesmen headquarters has now been vacated by the gang seemingly after this incident occurred.

“Significant progress has been made in the investigation to date, with a number of the gang’s members and associates giving police invaluable information. However, we still believe there is further information being actively supressed by the gang. ” says Detective Senior Sergeant Alexander.

“We know that there are people within the Tribesmen gang who know what happened on that day and Police are as determined today as they were seven months ago to resolve this investigation and seek some resolution for Mr Ratima’s family and friends.”

Anybody with any information is urged to contact Detective Senior Sergeant Albie Alexander on 09 261 1300, alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 11.
