Investigations continue into Yaldhurst Road incident

Canterbury Police investigations are continuing following a crash involving a fleeing vehicle on Yaldhurst road on 24 November 2014.

A total of three Police vehicles sustained damage when a silver BMW failed to stop for red/blue lights and two Police officers, who were injured, were treated in Christchurch Hospital A&E.  The fleeing vehicle incident was related to a drug investigation which required an armed component to the response.

The driver and passenger of the Honda Jazz were discharged from Hospital today (27 November 2014) and are receiving support from Police and Victim Support.  The other passenger, an 80 year old woman, remains in Christchurch Hospital ICU. 

A 32 year old female is still being detained under the Misuse of Drugs Amendment Act.

Some witnesses have already come forward to Police but anyone else who witnessed the crash on Yaldhurst Road is asked to contact them on 03 363 7807.

The IPCA are conducting an independent investigation into this incident.
