Police are appealing for information after a man was seen acting suspiciously near Woodlands Primary School in Southland.
On Wednesday, 8 June 2016, a man was seen running from a bus stop, where a female student had been waiting for a bus, to a nearby silver car. The girl told police she'd seen the same vehicle several times over the past few weeks, often parked on the opposite side of the bus shelter.
On one occasion, the car drove alongside her as she walked to the bus shelter, then parked on the other side of the road. Another female student has also reported being followed by a silver car in the area, at around 3.55pm.
The vehicle involved is believed to be similar to the silver Mitsubishi Diamante model, pictured.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen such a car in the area of Woodlands-Grove Bush Road, Mabel Bush, around school opening and closing times. Anyone with information is asked to contact Invercargill Police on 03 211 0400 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
