Tasman District Police can confirm the identity of a man shot by Police this afternoon following a firearms incident in Motueka.
His family have been notified and Police investigations into what occurred are continuing.
He is Ford William Hurinui, aged 27.
He is currently undergoing medical treatment and is in a critical condition.
Following further inquiries, Police also want to speak with a second man believed to be in the vehicle that was involved in today's incident.
This man is asked to contact Police.
