1 min read

Auckland City Police is pleased to invite media to the official launch of the new fleet of helicopters for the NZ Police Air Support Unit this Friday.

Three Bell 429 helicopters will provide aerial support across Tamaki Makaurau and beyond, with the Air Support Unit located at its new base in Onehunga.

The new helicopters will be officially launched at a ceremony by Police Minister Stuart Nash and Commissioner Mike Bush.

Media are invited to attend the ceremony and film one of the new helicopters in action from the ground. There will also be an opportunity for interviews.

Details of the event:

Time: 2.30pm – Friday 12th July, 2019
Location: 59 Miami Parade, Onehunga

Media are requested to arrive by 2.15pm. Anyone attending is asked to RSVP by emailing media@police.govt.nz by 5pm on Wednesday 10th July.

Please note: for operational reasons there will not be an opportunity at this event for media to go up in the air inside the new helicopters. We will have footage filmed from inside Eagle that we are able to supply to media upon request on the day.
