Traffic delays are expected in the area of Bolt Road and Quarantine Road, Nelson due to a possible burst water main.
The westbound lane of Bolt Road is blocked and traffic management is in place. There is a large amount of surface water in the area and there is a hole in the road.
The issue was reported to Police shortly before 8am.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
