Police have charged the man who was arrested at a nearby address following a homicide on Golders Road, Upper Hutt yesterday afternoon with murder.
The 37-year-old will appear in Hutt Valley District Court this morning.
Police believe this was an isolated incident and are not looking for anyone else in relation to it.
A scene examination on Golders Road will continue this morning.
Police ask that anyone who may have information which could assist with our investigation rings Hutt Valley Police on 04 560 2600.
