At 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020, New Zealand moved to COVID-19 Alert Level 4.

This means New Zealanders not working in essential services must stay at home and stop all interactions with others outside of their household.

During this time Police will continue to provide essential policing services.

Name release - crash on SH2, Napier

Police can now release the name of the man who died after a crash on State Highway 2, Napier, on Wednesday 24 April.

He was 56-year-old Floyd Tuitonga Tiepa of Hastings.

Police offer their sympathies to Mr Tiepa’s family at this difficult time.

The investigation into the crash continues.
