Aoraki has a new Area Commander, with Inspector Matt Scoles set to take up the role, beginning Monday 28 September.
Born and raised in Dunedin, Inspector Scoles began his policing career in 1996.
In his 30 years of service to New Zealand Police, he has held various roles including the Youth and Community Services Manager in Dunedin, to more recently where he has relieved in Area and District Commander roles in the Southern District.
Most recently, he was District Manager: Operations Support in the Southern District.
Inspector Scoles is a fantastic addition to Canterbury Police, and I look forward to him getting underway and building connections with our Aoraki community.
We’ll hear more from Inspector Scoles in a story later this week.
I’d like to thank Inspector Vicki Walker for her leadership and commitment over the past almost four years in the Aoraki Area Commander role.
