At about 4pm yesterday emergency services attended the scene where a vehicle collided with a pedestrian.

The driver of the vehicle was 22-year-old Alekh ACHARYA, a Nepalese national who had been residing in New Zealand for some years.

The pedestrian was Ronald Victor MILLMAN, aged 67, of New Plymouth.

A scene examination began this morning and preliminary indications suggest speed was a factor in the crash.
