Operation Bastille update

1 min read

The man killed in Papatoetoe yesterday evening was 35 year old Davender Singh of Papatoetoe. Mr Singh’s body is undergoing a post mortem examination today.

Police were unable to interview Mr Singh’s partner last night due to the distressed state she was in but hope to be able to speak to her today at length about what occurred.

Based on what she was able to tell Police last night, Police are seeking a third person in relation to Mr Singh's death.  Other than the fact his person is a male Police have no other description available.

Due to the nature of Mr Singh's injuries, Police believe that this male would have had blood on his clothing.  We are appealing to the public for sightings of:

• Any person that arrived home last night and aroused suspicion by washing clothing or putting clothing in the rubbish
• Any person that arrived home last night and had signs of blood on their person or clothing
• Any bloodstained clothing located discarded
• Any sharp objects located discarded

A team of twenty Detectives are working on the case and the immediate priorities today will be to complete a thorough search of the scene and surroundings.

Police are also interested in hearing form any businesses that have CCTV footage available of Norman Spencer Drive, Papatoetoe.

Anyone with information can anonymously contact the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
