Pair arrested following Levin robbery

Police have arrested a man and woman in connection with the robbery of a family of Singaporean tourists in Levin yesterday afternoon.

A 26 year old male from Levin and a 19 year old female from Waikanae will appear in Levin District court this afternoon charged with aggravated robbery. Police will not be releasing any further details in regards to the alleged offenders at this time

Police have recovered the vehicle that they allege was used during the robbery and a scene examination is currently taking place.

Detective Sgt Peter Vine said that while some of the victim’s property has been recovered Police would still like to hear from any members of the public that may have witnessed the robbery.

“Although an arrest has been made we would still like anyone with any information about this matter to come forward. Your information is still valuable to us,” Sgt Vine said. “A wallet and a driver’s licence have been recovered but there are still items of property which have not been found.”
