1 min read

Please attribute to Detective Sergeant Bill Crowe.

Te Awamutu Police are investigating after a male pedestrian was injured and a driver is understood to have left the scene without reporting the incident.

The pedestrian, a 23-year-old man, was taken to Waikato Hospital by ambulance but discharged himself before he could be seen.

The incident occurred after a fight between seven or eight males in Rangitahi Street in Otorohanga yesterday (Saturday) at about 4.20pm.

Police are concerned for this man’s health as he may have serious injuries that need treatment. We encourage him to seek medical assistance.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who was either involved in or witnessed the fighting, before the car was understood to have hit the pedestrian.

We would welcome sightings of a black Toyota people mover - registration number JYN924 - as part of Police inquiries.

Information can be phoned through to Detective Sergeant Bill Crowe of Te Awamutu CIB on 07 872 0100.

Alternatively, details can be given to Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.
