Detectives investigating an attempted robbery at the Carlisle Street dairy in Tauranga on Wednesday night would like to hear from anyone who may recognise the people in these photos.

At 6.45pm on 17 August, 2016, two men entered the Carlisle Street dairy armed with a plastic pistol and a knife.

They demanded money but were chased out of the store empty-handed by the owner and his assistant.

One of the offenders was wearing dark blue trousers with a reflective band around the knee.

They were last seen running down Tyrone Street and getting into a car that's been described as silver and a modern shape.

Anyone who may have seen the car, recognise the people in the photos, or have any information about this incident, is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
