Police investigating a series of alleged roofing scams in the Auckland region have made two arrests.

Two British nationals, aged 30 and 27, were arrested last night.

One man was arrested near Marton, in the Rangitikei district, and the other man was later arrested in Whanganui.

The two men will be facing fraud charges.

They are due to appear in the Whanganui District Court later today.

Police enquiries are still ongoing into these incidents and we cannot rule out further arrests.

Detective Senior Sergeant Bridget Doell says it’s a timely reminder for the public to be cautious about suspicious approaches offering home maintenance work.

“We encourage everyone to immediately report any suspicious behaviour to Police by calling 111,” Detective Senior Sergeant Doell says.
