Police investigating after assault in Henderson

Henderson Police are investigating an assault which occurred on the corner of Raynella Drive and Triangle Road, Henderson.

Detective Senior Sergeant Nadene Richmond said Police were called at approximately 9.20pm last night after a member of the public saw a man and woman having an argument in a newer model shiny silver sedan.

The woman has then tried to exit the car but was pulled back in by the man before being assaulted. The vehicle has then driven off on Triangle Road towards Lincoln Road with both man and woman in the vehicle.

Police are yet to locate the vehicle, or identify who the man and woman were. At this time, Police are unsure of the relationship between the two individuals.

The man is described as being a Maori, in his 50’s, and of a large build. He has long black hair and was wearing a black cap at the time.

The woman is described as being Caucasian, in her 20’s with blonde hair in a ponytail.

Detective Senior Sergeant Richmond is asking any member of the public who also witnessed this incident, or saw the a silver sedan along Triangle Road, to contact the Henderson Police Station on (09) 839 0600.
