Police locate and apprehend wanted Northland offender

A wanted offender who has been actively avoiding Police for two months was arrested overnight in Northland.

David Shaun Galloway, 24, was wanted to arrest on a parole recall warrant and a warrant to arrest for breaching his release conditions.

Galloway has been hiding in the Whangarei area for the past two months, actively avoiding Police.

“A combination of excellent investigative work, plus useful information from the public, helped lead to the arrest of Mr Galloway who was located in a vehicle in Whangarei last nigth,” says Detective Sergeant Dave Wilkinson of Whangarei Police.

“The public can be reassured that this offender is off the streets, and we’d like to thank the community for providing information.”

Galloway is due to appear in the Whangarei District Court today charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of utensils, in addition to breaching his parole conditions.
