Mercer fatality - white car

Counties Manukau Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found in the middle of the road at around 2:30am on 25 April (last Saturday morning).

Sarah Bromley, aged 37, was found on State Highway One, Mercer, near the petrol station and appeared to have been struck by more than one vehicle.

The Counties Manukau Police Serious Crash Unit are investigating the incident and are interested in speaking to anyone who may have been driving in that area at the time.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a person walking along State Highway One or who may have given a lift to anyone,” says Detective Sergeant Sam Rice of Counties Manukau Police.  “We are in the process of piecing together Ms Bromley’s movements leading up to her death and any information we can gain from the public will assist the investigation.”

Police are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of the white vehicle (pictured in a CCTV photo) who dropped a person off near “Podges Place” pub in Mercer at about 2am, just prior to the incident.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Sergeant Sam Rice on 09 213 9159 or 021 191 0551.  Information can be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
