Police name cyclist killed in road crash

Police can now release the name of the female cyclist who was killed in a collision involving a semi-trailer truck on Summerhill Drive, Palmerston North, yesterday morning (6 April, 2014).

She was Jocelyn Goodwin, aged 51, from Palmerston North. Mrs Goodwin was an experienced road cyclist and frequently took part in cycling events.

Officers have now formally spoken to the driver of the truck but are still in the process of speaking to witnesses.

The Serious Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the factors that led to the crash.
