Police name deceased male - Taihape

Police can now release the name of the young man who was killed when he was struck by a train in the early hours of Wednesday the 16th of March at Taihape.
He was James Hamilton, a 16yr-old-student form the Taihape area.
The circumstances surrounding how James came to be on the track are still under investigation, and the matter will now be referred to the coroner.
Central District police would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of James.
