Attribute to Detective Senior Sergeant Rhys Johnston, Northland Police:

Police are pleased to confirm the that elderly victim in the Kawakawa home invasion incident has had her treasured stolen possessions recovered by staff.

During the incident last Wednesday, two offenders allegedly stole a number of valuable items from her home including jewellery (pictured) and her wallet containing her bank cards and identification.

Most important to the victim in sentimental value was a calling card, which was also stolen in the incident.

The calling card was given to her by her late husband more than 75 years ago and contains his name, which she had continued to treasure to this day.

Police were determined to find these items and enquiries by staff resulted in all of the stolen property being successfully recovered and will be returned to the victim.

The victim, who fortunately has made a full recovery since the attack, is thrilled to soon be reunited with her possessions.

Two females have appeared in the Kaikohe District Court in relation to this incident.
