Police seek witness to Medway St assault

Police are seeking a person of interest and witnesses in relation to an assault in Richmond, Christchurch.

Police were called to a report of an assault at an address on Medway St at 5:00am on Thursday.

One man sustained minor injuries and Police are appealing for information about a second man in relation to this incident who may also be injured.

The man is described as being of Maori or Polynesian descent, between 25-35 years of age and is approximately six foot tall.

It is believed he is a solid build, has afro hair and was wearing a light blue hoodie with a large black logo on the front.

He left the Medway St address on a bicycle and headed north on North Avon Road. 

A scene examination has been conducted at the Medway St address.  

Members of the public who were in the Medway St area at the time are asked to call the Christchurch Central Police Station on (03) 363 7400.
