Police seek witnesses to serious crash in Tuakau

1 min read

Police are wanting to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a serious crash on River Rd, Tuakau last week.

Around midday on Tuesday, 21 June, a John Deere sprayer tractor collided with a black Nissan Patrol near Port Waikato bridge on River Rd.

Part of the road was closed for several hours to clean up a chemical spill caused by the crash.

The driver of the black Nissan Patrol has since died in hospital. Constable Paul Evatt, from the Counties Manukau Serious Crash Unit, says Police are unable to release the man’s name at this stage.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time and our investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing. We are very keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or seen the two vehicles in or near that area around midday,” says Constable Evatt.

Anyone who has information can contact Police on 021 192 1527 or information can be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
