Police are seeking the owners of a number of items believed to have been stolen from North Dunedin properties.

On Monday 1 August, a man riding a scooter was stopped by Police on Albany Street and found to have several suspicious items on him.

The man is believed to have unlawfully entered properties in the area between Friday 1 July and Monday 1 August 2016.

On searching the alleged offender's property, a number of items were found in his possession, including watches, ornaments, jewellery, and a kindle.

Pocket watches, commemorative coins, cameras, wallets, a mobile phone and a Cambodian lighter were also located.

Police would like North Dunedin residents to check their property for missing items such as those listed.

If you believe any of these items may belong to you, please contact Constable Davies at the Dunedin Central Police Station on (03) 471 4869.

A 26-year-old man is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court on Friday 2 September 2016, on theft and burglary charges as well as for driving while disqualified.
