Auckland Central Police are working alongside their partner agencies to make sure as little disruption as possible occurs during the current power outage.
Homeowners and business owners are encouraged to take extra security precautions wherever possible as some alarms may be affected.
Police officers have been deployed to major intersections to carry out point duty however mortorists are encouraged to take care while driving in the area particularly at intersections and especially those normally controlled by lights.
