Police are aware of an incident in Palmerston North yesterday where someone has yelled something to a 12 year-old from a car.
Staff have looked into the matter and we stress, with the information available to us, there is nothing to suggest there is anything sinister behind this incident nor is it related in any way to the events of last week.
Police continue to urge parents to have conversations with their children around the preventative messages police have previously mentioned and, while this incident is not an attempted taking situation, police applaud the actions of the child who felt uncomfortable and immediately sought help from someone they trusted.
