State Highway 1 at Huntly has reopened after a serious crash this afternoon in which three people died.
Police are still working to confirm the identities of the deceased and inform next of kin.
Two others who were in one of the vehicles remain in hospital, one in a critical condition and the other in a stable condition.
Investigations into the crash are in their early stages, and Police do not expect to be in a position to consider releasing any more details until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.
