Search for missing Australian tourist continues

1 min read

Queenstown Police are continuing to search for missing Australian tourist Robert Galdamez tonight.

Ground teams of police staff and volunteers are being assisted by search dogs and a night-vision equipped helicopter.

Weather during the day has been variable, with some light snow falling this afternoon.

The area where Mr Galdamez was last seen has been extensively searched by air – both last night and during the day today – and ground searches have been undertaken in areas of interest under the forest canopy today.

At this stage, nothing of note has been discovered.

Further planning will take place tonight in the event that Mr Goldamez is not found, and if necessary the search will re-commence first thing tomorrow morning.

More than 20 people are involved in the search effort.
