Counties Manukau Police are investigating the serious assault of a man outside Denny’s restaurant in Manukau.
The incident happened at around 3:20am this morning.
The 36-year-old victim, who was with a friend, was reportedly approached by a group of around 5 males. A fight has taken place and the victim has sustained a serious head injury.
He remains in Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.
Police have cordoned off the Denny’s Carpark in Lakewood Court and it will remain closed for the day.
The males involved fled the scene on foot.
