Serious crash Glencoe Highway

At about 7.30pm this evening emergency services were called to a serious crash on the Glencoe Highway, S.H 96 near Mataura.

A Honda CRV vehicle which had been travelling west over the brow of a hill struck a Nissan 4WD travelling in the opposite direction.

A horsefloat being towed by the Nissan 4WD broke free as a result of the impact.

The female driver of the Nissan was trapped in her vehicle for about 30 minutes and has been flown by helicopter to Kew Hospital in Invercargill with serious leg injuries.
