Road diversions are in place tonight around Hamilton International Airport, following a serious motor vehicle crash on Ohaupo Rd (SH3).
Four people have died following a collision between a Toyota van and a Nissan Skyline car.
The deceased are all thought to be aged in their late teens and 20s.
The driver of the van has been taken to Waikato hospital with moderate injuries.
Police advise the road is expected to be closed for some time.
Diversions are in place from the intersection of SH3 and 21, commonly known as Airport Road, to Raynes Road.
This is a tragic and distressing time for the families of the deceased. Police will investigate the cause of the crash.
