Tasman District urges caution for road users as the weather warms up

1 min read

The spring quarter is a high-risk time for roads in the Tasman District (West Coast, Marlborough and Nelson).

Spring is a beautiful time of year in this area but it’s also a high risk time on our roads. Sadly in the September to November period 2015 six people died in crashes on our roads.

Nicer weather and longer days encourage our vulnerable road users like cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists to get out and about.

We are asking motorists to keep an eye out for them, plan ahead and always drive to the conditions. Enjoy spring but keep safe.

We are working hard with our partner agencies to encourage safer driving behaviour and making our roads safer for all of our communities.
