Tauranga Police arrest two females for aggravated robbery

Tauranga Police have arrested a 25 and 27-year-old female following the aggravated robbery and wounding of an 85-year-old male in Greerton yesterday afternoon.

The two offenders have approached the victim outside the Westpac Bank on Chadwick Road around 3.15pm, and stabbed him at the intersection of Mansels Road and Emmett Street, before decamping in the victim’s motor vehicle.

The females were located later that evening after a brief Police pursuit.

The male remains in Tauranga Hospital in a stable condition.

Police are aware that other people were approached by two females outside the Westpac Bank around the same time, and Police ask that anyone who may have interacted with these females contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4384.

The two females were to appear in the Tauranga District Court this morning charged with aggravated robbery.
