Three teenagers have been arrested following an aggravated robbery and series of other incidents in Glen Eden last week.

Shortly after midnight on December 18, a group of people were walking home on West Coast Road when they were approached by a group of youths, who allegedly threatened them.

The youths then allegedly assaulted the group, kicking and punching the four victims and taking one of their bags.

The alleged offenders were also involved in a fight on a train earlier that night and another dispute outside a nearby location.

As a result of search warrants executed yesterday, three people aged between 15 and 18 have been arrested.

Two of them face aggravated robbery charges and are due to appear in the Waitakere District Court today. A third person has been referred to Youth Aid.

Inspector Stefan Sagar says he understands these incidents may have been concerning to local residents.

“We want to reassure the Glen Eden community, and all communities, that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated”.

“We encourage anyone who witnesses a crime or anyone who at any point feels unsafe to contact Police and call 111 immediately. We are here to help.”

As the matter is before the courts, Police are unable to comment further.
