Thousands reached but no one found

1 min read

Despite more than 80,000 people being reached via Auckland City Police's Facebook and Twitter accounts in the last 24 hours, as well as thousands more via mainstream media publicising the search for 34 year-old Laura Singh and her vehicle, there have not been any confirmed sightings of either.

It's believed Laura left her Greenlane home at about 8pm on Monday evening in her vehicle, a metallic blue Hyundai Tuscon, registration number ENJ73. Police and family members are increasingly concerned about her as she does not have access to money, her 'phone and other personal items which were left in her home.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Newman said information has been coming to Police which is being followed up but, thus far, there was nothing firm that would help locate the missing mother of three young children.

"We've got the opportunity today to generate even more publicity about Laura in the hope we can reunite her with her family for the weekend. Billboard signs will be uploaded in some city locations this afternoon thanks to the generosity of APN Media.

"We strongly encourage people to keep a keen eye out for Laura's vehicle and let us know if they see it parked anywhere in the North Island. It may be in some remote location or it could be in a busy carpark. We just have to find it."

Police have requested the Department of Conservation to distribute a flier appealing for sightings to its North Island field staff.

Anyone with information about Laura Singh, a blonde European of slim build, is urged to call Police on 111 or 09 302 6641.
