Train Graffiti Incident in Mt Albert

1 min read

Please attribute to Sergeant James Cassin, Auckland City Police.

Police are making enquiries after an incident that occurred at the Baldwin Ave Railway Station in Mt Albert around 4.40pm on Sunday 17th October.

A group of approximately 10-15 youths, most of whom have disguised their faces,  have painted graffiti  on the side of a train while it was stationary at the platform.

The group have spent 4-5 minutes causing significant destruction to a large area of the side of the train.

“This is a mindless, senseless act of vandalism and is traumatic for the passengers and staff on the train.  It’s a complete waste of time and money for those that are left to clean up the mess,” said Sergeant Cassin.

“This appears to be a premeditated and planned attack and we are determined to hold those responsible to account,” he said.
