Canterbury Police have arrested two people and recovered a number of items of stolen hunting equipment today.

Detective Inspector Tony Hill says the items seized have been linked to the recent burglary of Twin Needles in Christchurch.  “This is a good result for Police and the victim.  However a number of items have yet to be located and we urge anyone who sees items for sale to contact Police.”

A 38 year old man has been charged with receiving stolen property and unlawfully possessing a firearm.

A 33 year old female has been charged with receiving stolen property.

They have been released on bail and are due to appear in Christchurch District Court on 19 January 2016.

As this matter is now before the courts Police are unable to provide any further information.

Police encourage anyone who is offered hunting equipment, or sees items for sale on line, at prices too good to be true to contact Police straight away by calling 03 363 7400.
