1 min read

Tasman Police are continuing their scene examination at Queen Elizabeth II Drive in Nelson following the discovery of a man’s body on a boat earlier today.

The body was found at about 10.45am on Thursday 4 August, 2016. His death is being treated as suspicious.

Officers are expected to be at the scene, opposite the skate park on QEII Drive, for the next couple of days.

Police have already had some positive leads from the public but would still like to hear from anyone who may have information that could help the investigation.

“State Highway 6, or QEII Drive, is the main route in and out of Nelson and popular with commuters,” said Detective Inspector Paul Borrell. “Lots of people would have driven past the scene and we’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area overnight or this morning.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nelson Police on 03 546 3895, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
