Update - firearms incident, Glenavy

Police from Timaru and Oamaru are investigating reports of shots being fired in Glenavy between 9.30 and 10pm on Tuesday 13 August. 

A scene examination of the layby and surrounds at the north end of the Waitaki bridge in Glenavy has been completed. Items of interest found during the examination will be examined as part of the investigation.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Glenavy around the time on Tuesday night, particularly if you have a dash camera or saw anything unusual or suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 105 and quote file number 190815/2699. People can also provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
