Willis Street in central Wellington has reopened following an incident this evening in which a threat was made by a person on a bus.
A 41-year-old man has been taken into custody. He has been charged in relation to an outstanding warrant and will appear in court tomorrow. Further charges are likely.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was on the bus at the time of the incident who they have not already spoken to. They are asked to contact Wellington Police at dcc.wellington@police.govt.nz.
Any reported threats are taken extremely seriously by Police and the public are thanked for their cooperation as the matter was resolved.
