At 4.23am on Tuesday 22nd November Police received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Mosston Road, Whanganui.
It was reported that a person was trapped in a vehicle.
On attendance of Emergency Services it was found that a vehicle had collided with a power pole and electricity power lines were over the road.
The occupant of the vehicle was able to be assisted from the vehicle by emergency services.
The sole female occupant of the vehicle was taken to hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries.
The road has been closed and is likely to be closed for several hours.
The closure is between Tayforth Road and Fox Street, detours are in place.
Police are asking motorists to take care in the area and have patience whilst the power company works to re-connect power in the area.
