Counties Manukau Police have now identified the woman involved in yesterday’s incident in Papatoetoe.
She is a 50-year-old Thai woman who resides in Auckland.
She remains in Middlemore Hospital in a critical condition.
Her immediate family has been informed and have said they do not wish to be contacted by media.
We ask that media respect this request and allow the family privacy during this difficult time.
