Formal identification of the victims from the plane crash near Wairoa yesterday is yet to take place.
As the Coroner is overseeing the formal identification process, Police will not be in a position to release the names of the individuals until that process is complete.
The bodies of the two men have been removed from the scene and transported to Palmerston North, where a forensic post mortem will take place.
Tairawhiti Police continues to work with and support the families of the deceased during this tragic time.
