The name of a driver who lost his life in a single vehicle crash on Marychurch Road, south of Hamilton last Friday has been released.
Waikato District Road Policing Manager, Inspector Freda Grace, said the deceased was 39 year-old Mathew Whiu Morehu YORSTON, of Hamilton.
On Friday 22nd May, Mr. YORSTON’S vehicle crossed the centreline, while travelling north on Marychurch Road, colliding head on with a tree. Mr. YORSTON was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
“On behalf of New Zealand Police we would like to offer our condolences to the family of Mr. YORSTON.”
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and the matter has been referred to the coroner.
