Weather affects Taranaki and Central North Island

1 min read

Police are working with Fire and Emergency and Civil Defence as heavy rain and winds affect the Taranaki and Central North Island regions.

There is surface flooding on a number of roads and trees and power lines are down in some areas.

Police are not aware of anyone being injured in weather related events at this stage.

However we continue to monitor the situation and work with our emergency service and civil defence partners.

Motorists are being asked to please follow the directions of emergency services and roading contractors as some local roads are closed.

Non-essential travel should be delayed and drivers are being urged to take extra care.
