Wellington Police recover stolen property

A range of stolen property has been recovered today following the execution of a number of search warrants at addresses in Wellington and Hutt Valley.

The stolen property recovered included power tools, vehicles and car parts. Methamphetamine and cannabis found during the searches was also seized.

The warrants were targeting offenders responsible for offending related to burglary, theft ex car, unlawful taking and theft.

In addition to the recovery of the stolen property two people were also arrest on charges relating to receiving stolen property and possession of methamphetamine for supply. The pair will wil appear in Wellington District Court tomorrow. 

"Police are determined to target the people responsible for breaking into vehicles, stealing cars and breaking into homes and businesses.

Police actively target these offenders and are committed to trying to prevent further offending and victimisation within our community,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee from the Wellington District CIB.

To avoid becoming the victim of crimes such as burglary, theft ex car, unlawful taking and theft Police remind people to lock and secure their homes, businesses and vehicles, don’t leave property in a vehicle and report suspicious behavior in your community to Police immediately on 111.
